Final Design

Here's the final iteration of my infographic, each side has it's own colour to help represent the split down the middle and help with the vertical flow I wanted to achieve.


Colour experiment


Here I decided to change the colours of each half to reflect upon the faction. As shown in my sketches.
Below is an image where each side has a strong red/blue tint and then a small image for comparison and last is a more neutral red/blue but still noticeable.


Development work

In the image above I used different colours for the class graphs, I decided this wasn't effective as it broke the overall colour scheme of the image.

In the previous iterations the design was very top heavy and to try fix this I enlarged the pie chart at the bottom of the image, I think this fixes the problem without the contrasting colours taking attention away from the rest of the graphs above.


In the image above to try deal with the problem of the bottom third feeling a lot lighter then the rest of the image I decided to see how it would look instead of a pie chart a bar chart as that has a considerably stronger, weightier feel to it. In the end I felt this didn't work because it didn't break the monotony of the other bar charts like the pie chart succeeded in doing.

Research

Here are some of the notes I took for recording my data, I used a tally method because I didn't have a large window of time to record each individual piece of information so I needed a method that was fast but clear so I had no problems counting it up afterwards.

Data Graphs,

Above are the graphs for the research we acquired. I wanted to try and make it so text was not needed, I did this by colour coding it, so when presented as part of a design, you would just need the title saying the colours of cars, and from that you can get the context.



Here's the notes on the researching, the R f and m's, were me taking down the colours of the cars and the gender, which I don't think was accurate because quite often the cars wen by too fast to get a clear view, as a result of that this is excluded from the charts. One idea I did have for it though is shown below, which was to colour the segments in by the percentage ratio of male to female.
